The Silent Forest

As we met with the rest of the team mates at Yishun MRT that night, I was actually surprised by the "SNF" response. It was actually a overwhelmed response I could say. Some familiar and new faces was there. Old class like Ramdan was there and new class like Khairul, Joker and Abg Dali was also there to support the Xtrackers. Soon enough later we met Pak Uncle and Brother Jo at a near by coffee shop where then we had a small brief discussion. After a quick warm refreshment, everyone head on to the destination.

It have actually been quite sometime since we had a number of participant involved. At the carpark area Pak Uncle said " This place have a lot of Bunian rather than those hunted entities." I nod my head as that will be what we expecting.

As you can see the excited face of Khairul and the "Errmm...I know what you did last Raya" look by Ramdan. Yusof who had been here once lead the way as the rest follow (Anyway he got the biggest torch that night). Walking in, I soon noticed this place somehow remind me of Bukit Timah slashed Pasir Ris Swamp. It was pitched dark, but carefully and silently everyone move in through the slippery wet ground. The moon could hardly be seen that night and even though we were in the forest , it was very warm and humid.

As we move in further we noticed the pathway getting narrow and narrower. I turned my head back to look at the rest, and I could see everyone was busy snapping pictures and watching their step.

It took about 20 minutes for us to walk till we reached the Xperiment spot that I chose. Everyone look around and helping out where could be the best possible spot to be sit. As we had a discussed earlier, this going to be a 6 men plus woman Xperiment.

I clear some branches while the rest were busy preparing the video camcorder. After all is set and done, Chika, Khairul, Kamarul, Ramdan, Sharil and Roy prepare themselves to start.

We left them and find a spot to standby about 30-50 meters away. I asked Bro5 to bring along Abg Dali, Joker, Yusof and FatDin further in the forest path if there is anything hunting further in.

While Pak Uncle, Brother Jo, Farid and I standby to watch the rest who are going on with the Xperiment. While Brother Jo and Farid was snapping some pictures, I noticed something strange within the seaside. I saw a sampan with two human like figure passing by on sand, yes on sand not the sea. The sampan = old small boat was passing by the sand like an hovercraft boat without anyone paddling it. "What did you see there?" Pak Uncle ask me. I explained to the rest what I saw, everyone was puzzled. Soon after I saw a again the same thing, but this time the boat stop and two tall men came out and walk upon the beach. I pointed out to the rest and Pak Uncle went closer to see. Everyone there was amazed on what they saw and soon as Pak Uncle came back he said,"Strangely the two men and the boat just vanished. I did saw what you told me earlier." Brother Jo and Farid could just smiled amazed. Soon after Bro5 and the rest came back. "Anything?" I asked and Bro5 just shake his head as it mean no. Fast forward, after about nearly 2 hours we went back in to take the guys out while Bro5, Yusof and FatDin replaced in turn.

"So how? Any encounter?" I asked everyone individually. And according to Sharil side of share, he saw something in white like a scarf shape head moving and jumping around. While Ramdan and the rest heard some movement of steps around them. Hmm....scarf shape like moving around very fast from tree to tree. According to Pak Uncle is Bunian people is what Sharil saw. We waited around an hour more while Kamarul and Sharil guide the rest for a recce in the forest path.

Soon everyone heard, a sound of a goose "Onk.....OOOonk!" "It could be near."said Pak Uncle. I soon ask Abg Dali point of view, if there is anything to share, "If you saw jinns, they were seldom run or sway away. These jinn or jinnies are stubborn kind of entities. But for me further in the forest is much better kind of place to do experiment." Everyone sat and share their bits and knowing each other. Around an hour we went in to take Bro5 and the rest out.

Everyone pack up and proceed to another spot of location where Khairul want to be alone this time. After we left Khairul, I ask Yusof how was it? "You know there were continuous sound of goose and cat meowing while we were in there? The best thing I saw something black crawling behind FatDin, but could not make it clear what was it and there was once this moment I felt like black out all of sudden but I managed o control.

While according to Bro5 there is some presence but nothing much. While FatDin shared that he heard a lot of strange noise around. As time passed by we heard speaker of someone reciting the Holy Al-Qur'an. "Ahh...It's going to be Subuh soon......Come guys let's take Khairul out and pack up." I said. Everyone soon packed up, and walked out slowly. Could the Silent Forest really be just like this? Or is there something more but hidden away secretly inside from us? The Lost Village

Targeting the next coming "SNF", Xtrackers went high and low looking for places. Thanks to Bro 5 and people who submit their interest in us, we were given the lead to a broken down or should I say abandoned Village. But what we found is more than what we expected.

"Who would call me early in the Sunday morning", I woke up answering my hp. "Hey ain't we suppose to go somewhere right now? Look at the time now it's already 11am." Farid spoke. "Oh jeezzz...he he he...OK..ok I'll call the rest and we'll meet up at the usual place asap." I replied. The feeling of lazy Sunday was all over me that morning, but since it's "recce" my eyes automatic lid up like the ray of sunshine in the sky. (Ape yang aku merepek plak). Anyway everyone met up at the usual spot except for somebody who is usually late..That is Yusof. "Where is Yusof?" Bro 5 asked. "Went to the market bro with his mum, he'll be here soon." I replied. Soon after Yusof arrived, we went to a coffee shop and had our early briefing and coffee. "So any updated new regarding on the place?" I asked Bro 5. "The details that were given to me is that this abandoned village is said to be very haunted even during the day and night. There is a certain area or path where people could see Pontianak(Vampire like entity) emerged as a old lady within that area." said Bro 5. "I too were also given a similar detail regard on the area by someone who used to live in the village. The reason for this strange occurrence is that during the olden days people kept entities like pontianak, hantu raya and etc, to guard hold their fruits plantation from been taken by thieves. One particular villager mentioned is Pak Abu who is known for keeping 12 pontianak." I said. "Interesting, but how could these entities still be there?" Yusof asked. "When the villagers were told to evacuate the area and move to HDB Flat housing, they would usually leave their entities behind abandoned." Farid explained Yusof. "Anyway I'm glad Yusof come to his senses and back with us. Maybe he quit taking Panadol." Bro 5 giggled. "What is that suppose to mean? Where is DJ anyway?" Yusof asked. "Caught up in something I guess. Let him settle things and rest first. We are all friends we should understand and look out for each other no matter what." I replied. "Hey let's get going guys." Bro 5 get up and soon he went to the coffee shop toilet. "Thank you lah for the misguiding us Bro 5." Yusof punch Bro 5 stomach jokingly, while Bro 5 laugh his way. (Fast-Foward Mode) Upon reaching the area we were given the challenge to a very steep slope. Everyone help each other along the way which make me feel blessed that God have given Xtrackers a sense of bonding and brotherhood. Soon we saw a concrete wall along the way, but could not figure what it is. Minutes after the trekking the steep slopes and tall grasses we saw a pathway into the village (which look more like a forest now). We step in slowly till we were greeted by a strange site.

"Whoah! What could this be? It look really sunken to earth." Bro5 excitedly make his way in. We look inside carefully and this is what we saw.

"Hey make way for me too guys, I too want to have a look." Farid look inside figuring what this place could be.

(Later after the recce that day we got to know this area is actually a fort.) Hmmm...another pre-war fort we found on our own this time..well there is first for everything. But I'm still wondering why could it be here at all places? Anyway we couldn't wait to try "SNF" here. Later on we went further in, the further we went the place got more interesting.

Mostly we could see abandoned concrete walls, drainage and canvas. It look perfect for a Illegal Immigrant hideout.

But looking at certain areas we did knew that this place have been regularly visit by some people. Hardly we could make our way in as there were no path to guide us, so we have to use our animal instinct to make way inside.

There were even couple of time we fell due to wet surface, but the best thing we never got lost in the forest. By looking around while trekking in, we knew that we were not properly equipped. These place was filled with snakes and monitor lizard, and of course your very friendly commando Aedes Mosquitoes. Hours later we saw something we had not seen for quite sometime.

What could this be? Any clue?

Ten...Te.Ten...Behold we Xtrackers the first who found and name this place the LAST WELL...(just joking, no time carry own basket of fruits.)Anyway take a look at this.

Amazingly the well is not dried up after all this years. Strange but somehow this remind me of the movie "The Ring", perhaps we would know if there is an occupant in the well in the next "SNF". Here is another angle of the well.

"Can't wait to put Sharil alone in this area."I told the rest. We continue our way in till Yusof sighted something strange and called us up "Hey guys! Take a look at this!"

"Hmm..look like some kind of gate or entrance to me" Bro5 said. "Just take a look at the area there is cemented ground leading to this and after the gate." Farid look at the area carefully. "Hey bro snap my pic,I want to be the first to have picture taken here." Bro5 giggled.

Everyone had a quick KIT-KAT break and later on we continue trekking in. All we could find is abandoned huts and olden time bathroom just like this.

Here is another angle of the bathroom area. Too bad the pipe and sink have broken.

I wonder how would they bath back in the days if it were at night. Making all the way here in the forest, naked and exposed....darn...bad...bad imagination. Another interesting findings was at this particular where we could see sheets of canvas one like this:

What could this place possibly be? Some kind of Bomoh or Black Magic Ritual? Just look at the yellow ground sheets and the old school chillie pounder. The rest we'll have to wait for the Saturday Night Fright. Have any interesting stories or places to share?
